'머라이어 캐리(Mariah Carey)'

 

휘트니 휴스턴(Whitney Houston), 셀린 디온(Celine Dion)과 함께 1990년대 최고의 여성 팝 디바이자

국내 에서도 많은 사랑을 받았던 그녀 입니다

 

그녀는 오페라 가수와 보컬 코치 였던 부모님 밑에서 태어나

4세때 부터 노래를 불렀다고 합니다.

그녀는 고등학교를 졸업하고 뉴욕으로 이주해 레스토랑 웨이트리스로 일하며 가수의 꿈을 키워나갔으며

그 이후 소니뮤직 사장에게 데모테입이 전해지면서 정식으로 가수로 데뷔 하게 됩니다.

 

데뷔 하자 마자 데뷔앨범 에서 무려 4곡이나 넘버원 히트곡을 배출 하며

대박 히트를 기록하고

같은 해 있었던 그래미시상식 에서 '최우수신인상' '최우수 여성 보컬상' 을 타는 명예도 얻습니다

머라이어 캐리(Mariah Carey)를 생각 하면 캐롤을 빼놓을 수가 없지요

1994년 발표한 캐롤 앨범이 20년정도 의 세월이 지난 지금까지 도 이 앨범을 능가 하는 앨범이 없을 정도로

캐롤의 정석으로 불리는 [Merry Christmas] 이 앨범은

 머라이어 캐리(Mariah Carey)에게 있어서 또 하나의 역작이라고 할 수 있겠습니다.

 

매 해년 성탄절이 다가 오는 12월 이면 길거리 마다 성탄절 캐롤송이 울려 퍼지는데

제가 생각해도 캐롤송 하면 머리이어 캐리(Mariah Carey) 가 딱 생각 납니다

디즈니의 2013년 3월에 개봉했던 대작인 '오즈 그레이트 앤드 파워' 영화에 수록 되었습니다.
